You're given free reign as to how to achieve your goals. Flying the Star Control banner, it's your mission to explore space, find a solution to the threat humanity faces, and go on countless adventures in the process. You captain the first interstellar space ship created by humanity, The Vindicator. Following in the footsteps of the seminal Star Control series, it features a massive procedurally-generated galaxy for you to explore and figure out a way to protect humanity from the Scryve Empire, which decided that humans are a warlike race of immense potential that needs to be prevented from ever reaching the heights of their ability. It was released on 20 September 2018 for Windows. The original version was created for PC, but later an alternate version was released for the console 3DO, which allowed for the inclusion of speech and a modernized intro.

Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters was released in 1992 by Accolade. the map probably wouldve made it easier to find stuff too.

Well done.Īnd yes, folks, if you like exploring space and having quirky interactions with aliens and doing a bit of the kill-or-be-killed intersteller melee, you really need to go download Ur Quan Masters and have a go. If Id had this baby back in 1993 or so, I wouldnt have had to play the cracked version of the game. They also have a quality control issue, as my stars were double stamped (cut) so when you peel. Thanks for helping me realize something new about my favorite game! Exact Reproduction of The Sky +2 MAPs with indications. Until I made this map, I never noticed that, despite being the main antagonists, the Ur-Quan and Kohr-Ah play very minor roles in the plot of the game. I have no clue what the Burvixese Caster or the Clear Spindle looks like. For the pictures, I had to guess on a lot of the colors, especially eye colors, and I’m sure I got some of the shapes wrong. There are a couple of minor things I didn’t include (the Ur-Quan’s trigger words, and two useless items you can get from the Druuge). I labeled the stars I remember on the map, but I probably got some of them wrong. The version I played had copy protection where you had to name one of about 500 stars given its hyperspace coordinates, and I got it right about 90% of the time without consulting the map. I haven’t played this game in about 15 years, but I used to know it extremely well. Topo Map Coverage: New Zealand and Islands (Antipodes, Auckland, Bounty, Campbell, Chatham, Kermadec, Raoul, Snares and Stewart Islands) at scale 1:50.000 and 1:250.

Maps are rendered with Atlogis® hillshading to enhance topography. Star Control II is an action-adventure science fiction game, set in an open universe. Big thanks to DEFIANT for compiling the maps way back when, and to Novus for the SVG map. It should open fine in your browser, and you can edit it with something like Inkscape.

So I also included a “map” of the major plot events. All topographic maps have additional labels for better readability at higher zoom scales. The second to last map is in PDF and is a bit tricky. I wanted to submit a map of my favorite game of all time, 1992’s Star Control II (re-released as The Ur-Quan Masters), but the map of hyperspace doesn’t do justice to the epicly non-linear nature of the game.
